17. View from Accademia Bridge
| Okay, this will be the last canal shot. The Grand Canal ends just beyond where we are stood, on Accademia, the last of the three bridges. Ahead is St Mark's Basin with the square coming up on the left. I promised you some classic tourist shots, and this must be one of them. Stand on the bridge and the sound of camera shutters sounds like heavy rain on a tin roof. I wouldn't say it's a tourist mecca, but the sushi stands do a roaring trade. The Guggenheim Gallery is nearby. |
