6. Gondolier
| You must have wondered how long it would be before you saw another gondolier! Gondolas are indeed ubiquitous throughout Venice all day and on the Grand Canal, well into the night. The rates aren't actually all that bad, particularly before the evening, but they do try it on - take a watch and agree the time beforehand or you won't get very long. Surprisingly, some gondoliers work in jeans and sweater - don't accept anything less than the full kit - boater and striped shirt etc like this chap! |
