Views like this one come upon you unexpectedly as you are walking along a dark street, and come to a small bridge crossing a canal. Of course, you won't have the slightest idea where you are, but you'll soon get used to that in Venice. Buy the best map you can find if you really haven't got much time, but otherwise just accept that to travel in hope is better than to arrive. |
