Welcome to a short trip around Lisbon, the capital of Portugal and one of the nicest cities I've visited in a while. There are 25 Lisbon pictures to view which take you around the city central area, with a few photographs of the beautiful town of Sintra and the seaside resorts of Cascais and Estoril, all close to Lisbon. I'll keep my commentaries short, and I promise not to bore you with facts!

Follow link below for a panoramic photo of Lisbon taken from St George's castle in the Mouraria district. Downtown Lisbon is basically built in a valley running from Comercio Square on the Tagus river, through the Baixa district to Rossio and Figueira squares, then starting to climb along Liberdade Avenue. On either side of the central area the valley sides climb sharply away, giving rise to the steep streets that are such a feature of Lisbon. This photograph can give you a rough idea of the layout.
