20. Typical street in historical Sintra
| Some 15 miles from Lisbon lies Sintra, one of those places that you must visit if you're ever going to win your colours as a true tourist. Dating from around the 8th century, this magical town (or more a collection of villages) has more castles than you can shake a Pentax at. Lord Byron raved about the place about 200 years ago and I doubt that much has changed since then. |
