I can't begin to imagine the problems on this man's mind, but he certainly wasn't happy. Maybe he couldn't find the rent money, or perhaps his 28 inch cable tv was on the blink - when you travel in a country where you don't speak the language you never really get under the skin of its citizens. But that shouldn't stop you enjoying the place, and injecting some tourist dollars into the local economy. It must be said that the Portugese have no problem with foreigners (except the Spanish, of course). Lisbon is the capital of a nation that has led the world in expanding frontiers and dealing with strange people.
