12. Street in Alfama
| Alfama is a maze of narrow streets, festooned by drying washing. It's very easy wandering around these alleys to imagine what Lisbon must have been like hundreds of years ago. I.particularly liked the way that almost none of the streets are flat, which gives rise to all sorts of interesting views. Although this is not the main area for Fado bars (that would be Bairro Alto), the ones here are only half-packed with tourists. |
