7. Quake hangers
| Another fact that links Lisbon with San Francisco is the high occurence of earthquakes. Much of the city was destroyed 250 years ago by a major quake and there have been many smaller ones. Stands like this are provided throughout the city so that people in the street have something to hold on to in the event of a serious tremor. |
