
| Shopping in Lisbon can be a bit like going back to the Fifties - the shops have a very old-fashioned feel to them. There are a lot of 'scroll script' namesigns, advertising generally is basic and most shops still have a counter with goods and a server behind it. There are modern shops and malls but the store shown above is more typical. Again, good value for just about everything and prices are usually marked. English is widely spoken, particularly in shops and restaurants (and most of the graffiti is in English). |
