A
good way to start is to sit down
outside a bar and just get the feel
of the place. This bar is in the
Bairro Alto district along with
many other bars, restaurants and fado joints.
I had expected a few people to be
drinking glasses of port but it
was mostly wine or beer. While I
was contemplating this some monkey
stole my nice leather bag from under
my nose, but to be fair that could
happen anywhere. I've replaced it
with an identical one thanks to
insurance - TIP - don't forget to get
good cover and don't put anything
of value in a bag! The police were
sympathetic and the officer I reported
it to spoke good English, and assured
me it wasn't a big problem in Lisbon. I generously believed him. |
